Products & Services
Dienes provides fully engineered spinning solutions for leading manufacturers and respected research institutes focused on developing innovative technical and textile yarns for a more sustainable future. DIENES offers modular laboratory, pilot, and production lines for high-performance filament yarns.
As increasing demands on the varied quality of biobased (virgin or recycled) feedstock, alongside the need for consistent fibre performance, require continuous development and optimisation of both technology and production parameters. Consequently, DIENES is constantly expanding its expertise to support customers in developing new products and processes. Innovative products such as precursor yarns for carbon fibres made from biobased raw materials are produced and enhanced with DIENES spinning systems.
The reliable development of textile and technical filament yarns requires an efficient, systematic, and partially self-optimising experimental system. Such a system must intelligently gather process data and allow flexibility for process reconfiguration. DIENES’s answer to these requirements is MultiMode®.
In a MultiMode® plant, each process step is represented by a module that can be customised to specific customer requirements, with its own decentralised control. A DIENES production line is therefore composed of multiple intelligent units that can be easily exchanged and reconfigured at any time with minimal programming. Additionally, all production parameters can be continuously visualised and recorded, allowing full traceability of the process.
Designing special equipment and fully engineered solutions is our passion. With their broad experience in all spinning technologies, DIENES engineers will help you turn your ideas into functioning plants.
Our engineering and quality criteria adhere to the highest standards, ensuring full traceability of all process data. With the successful delivery of a wet spinning plant validated to GMP guidelines and GAMP standards, we are a trusted partner for clients in the pharmaceutical and biomedical sectors as well.
Wet spinning lines
The DIENES wet spinning lines in standard or air-gap execution enable highest performance in the production process. The wet spinning lines consist of various main steps: coagulation - washing – drawing – drying – fixation – winding.
We offer:
Lab lines with independently driven modules
Pilot plants: modules are connected in the MultiMode® principle
Production lines
Filament Fibers made from: Polyester (PET), Polypropylen (PP), Polyamide (PA6.6, PA6), Polyacryl (PAN), Textile and Technical Viscose, New Cellulose NMMO, SiO2, Al2O3, Amorphous Materials, Composite Materials
Equipment for the production and treatment of: Multifilaments low speed spinning (e.g. precursor), Monofilaments (e.g. medical and reinforcement), Nanofibers (webs)
In a MultiMode® plant, each process step is represented by a module which can be individually adapted to customer-specific requirements and has its own decentralized control. Thus, DIENES production lines consist of several intelligent modular units which can be easily exchanged and rearranged at any time with a reduced programming effort. Moreover, all production parameters can be permanently visualized and recorded, enabling a complete traceability of the process. The general set-up and the complexity of the machine depend on the process and the customer's target.
Wet spinning Lab-Line
Our Wet spinning Lab-Line is a solution spinning laboratory line especially designed for research institutes and is suitable for instance for PAN, PEG, PVA . An Aramid process was already realized in a special design of the lab line.
This affordably priced compact line finds its principal application in the development and research of small amounts of polymer. The modular design and the local control allow to take specific customer requirements into account. You can easily add or exchange modules at any time to achieve fast research results. Furthermore, it is possible to integrate the modules to other manufacturer lines.
The standard DIENES LLC line consists of the following modules:
Spinning unit with dope supply & coagulation bath
Washing & drawing unit (with baths or as a duo) and drying section
Quintet
Dancer arm cross winder
The LLC is being further developed and is available as MultiMode® LAB too.
The Spinning Unit includes two dope vessels for a more comfortable operation: one vessel can be used for spinning while the other one is in stand-by being stirred and degassed.
The spinning pump will be defined according to the requested viscosity.
The lines has been optimized for Lyocell or similar highly viscous dopes: heating along the spinning pipe, higher grade stainless steel in the spinning line and coagulation bath and higher temperature heating jackets for the dope vessel(s).
Mono- and bicomponent melt spinning lines for nearly all spinnable polymers
DIENES offers mono- and bicomponent compact melt spinning plants according to the MultiMode® principle. The production speed of these lines is up to 6.000 m/min.
The lay out of the extruder with dosing, spinning unit, quench, drawing sections and high-speed winder is adapted to the specific needs of the developers in order to lead to the achieved results.
Individual yarn path adjustment
Actively cooled godet
Speed up to 6.000 m/min

Lines for stabilization, carbonization & activation of precursor material for carbon fiber yarn
Stabilization is an important process step in the creation of high-quality carbon fibers. For this process DIENES offers furnace systems with high temperature accuracy. The optimized system for yarn transportation with DIENES own godets implements a tension-controlled stabilization.
Subsequently to the stabilization the carbonization of the material follows, which is usually performed in a two-stage process in an inert atmosphere and at temperatures of up to 2.800 °C. DIENES offers thread guiding equipment and together with its partners carbonization ovens.
DIENES also offers modules for the activation process of the carbon fiber which includes treatments such as electrolytic surface treatment and sizing application.

Nanofiber lines to create fiber webs in a solution spinning process
DIENES offers nano fiber spinning installations with centrifuge technology which represent a leap forward in many aspects. By the use of high and constant throughput the installation can produce fibers with diameters as low as 80 nm in a simple and compact machine configuration at highest productivity. Centrifugal spinning line with only three heads provide a throughput which is 1.000 times higher than conventional electro spinning installations with 25 rows of 1.250 spin jets. Various polymers can be processed for which a solvent is available.
The technology is used for laboratory units as well as in high-capacity production lines while for all systems the same technological advantages are present.

MultiMode®
MultiMode® - Research 4.0
The development of new innovative filaments demands an efficient systematic and, in part, self-optimising experimental working system, which must be intelligent in gathering data from the process and flexible in enabling the rearrangement of the process.
Our implementation of the Research 4.0 approach is called MultiMode® and ensures high flexibility, modularity and versatile applicability. Each module can be individually adapted to customer-specific requirements and has its own decentralised control, which is the key for its integration into any plant at any time with a reduced programming effort.
In connection with the DIENES visualization unit all process-relevant data is graphically available for the user. Changes in the process can be made effectively by entering data via touchscreen. Through the combination of several DIENES MultiMode® modules and the integration of a MultiMode® Master (MMM), all local controls are displayed in a central control panel.
For the analysis of complex relationships to carry out process analysis the MMM is getting extended by a DIENES MultiMode® Explorer (MME). In the MME developed by Dienes, all process data are permanently visualised and recorded with a high degree of transparency for further evaluation. From system expansions to process development the MultiMode offers a customized process control system for your application.
Control set-up available with:
Local and central visualization per unit
Central visualization for line
Process evaluation in real time
Data logging for all parameters
